Just wanted to share a note. The first donation to the MDS Foundation was made this afternoon. The total from the first wave of subscribers allowed me to send a donation of more than $450.
I cannot thank you all enough for subscribing to the site and giving me the chance to help out this wonderful charity. I am so moved by your generosity; it means the world to me.
Allow me to share another story here…
Just before Christmas, the Buffalo Sabres PR staff were kind enough to give each of us in the media a box of cookies as a gift for the holidays. That was a very thoughtful (and delicious) gift from them, but there was a little bit more, too:
It’s been over a month since then and I am still at a loss for words for how kind a gesture this was from everyone on the staff. Nicole Hendricks, the senior director of communications for the Sabres, apologized to me for surprising me like this after we’d gotten done with Sabres availability that day at HarborCenter. I think she may have seen the surprised look on my face well as the misty eyes.
To have this kind of support from everyone, from you, the fans, as well as the Sabres is almost too much to comprehend. I thank you and my family thanks you as well for the kindness.
Here’s to giving again in the near future.
stuff like this is what gives me hope the organization has really turned a corner.
This is wonderful!
